A parking lot hotel

Hotel R9 The Yard Yamanashichuo in Japan is a brilliant example of innovation in hospitality.

They’ve transformed a parking lot into a motel using shipping containers.

From the outside, it’s about as underwhelming as it gets. But step inside, and you’ll find surprisingly well-designed rooms with everything a guest could need.

It’s functional, affordable, and ripe for a creative designer to turn it into something truly unique.

So here’s the question: Do you have any underutilized parking spots near your hotel?

With a bit of imagination (and maybe a chat with MSC), you could hack your way to extra rooms and increased revenue.
