Hotel sales managers– did you know most of you are doing four jobs in one?

David Kijlstra nailed it on LinkedIn: in tech, for example, they’ve got a specialist for each step— A business development rep, a sales manager, an onboarding manager and a key account manager.

But in hotels? One person covers it all.


While multitasking geniuses may get this type of work done, the sales funnel gets lopsided.

So, here’s a small hack from David: time-blocking.

Carve out a few hours each week to focus on the essentials:

  1. Prospecting
  2. Closing
  3. Onboarding
  4. Client nurturing

This way, each role has its own moment in the spotlight and the theory suggests it can make your workflow way smoother.
