In the historic heart of Cambridge, UK, the Locke and Hyatt Centric hotels, managed by Edyn Group, have come together under one roof to offer a unique blend of accommodation experiences (so-called dual-branded hotels).
So, how is it possible for two hotels to work in one building?
Well, a lot of it is down to the clientele they attract.
Locke appeals to guests looking for a homier stay over longer periods, with their website emphasizing that a room here is meant for living, not just sleeping.
Hyatt Centric, on the other hand, targets short-term visitors. Its website gallery puts less emphasis on the rooms and more on showcasing the wonders Cambridge has to offer.
It also seems like Locke is more focused on families while Hyatt on individual travellers.
Observation from my friend Sergey:
Stayed with my family last year in the Locke hotel. Although we only stayed 2 nights, we preferred its homey vibe and kitchen (necessity for travel with kids) vs Hyat's corporate identity. So it's almost like theres' family section vs a solo traveller section, in one building.
At first, the idea of fitting two hotel brands under one roof might make you do a double-take.
But when you dive deeper, you see the brilliance in it.
When the brands mesh well, they’re able to share things like parking and dining smoothly, all while catering perfectly to their own guests.
